This is a used Transmission Gear Shift Tube & Socket for the 1958-60 Thunderbird w/Cruise-O-Matic Transmission. It is installed inside the steering column and is often the cause of sloppy gear selection. For best results, the lever at the bottom end and the shift collar at the top should be fitted to this tube. Often the 'nubs' at the bottom and top can be welded and then filed down to tighten the fit to your worn lever & shift collar....
