This stereo does power up, buttons appear to work. The internal chime/buzzer also functions, it prohibits incorrect code entry. Since these pictures were taken, I've replaced the display backlight with a used unit that improved visibility but did not totally fix the problem. So the display is only partially legible at this time. There is also notable wear on the buttons, as is common with these units. I'd also assume it also needs new belts in the cassette transport.
