BMW AIRHEAD, R80, R80RT, R80GS, 84.775 mm, SIZE "B" , 800cc PISTONS Pistons are in very nice condition, skirts are clean with no scratches, scrapes, scars, etc. These pistons are the earlier higher piston dome, 9.2 compression, iron sleeve cylinder type, (note the higher domes, the later 8.2 compression, nikasil cyl. type were a flat top type piston), so rings should be for iron cylinder use. To be on safe side I would replace rings whether using on an iron or nikasil cylinder. Should be able to...
