Did you buy the wrong switch? Does your bike need a different connector? PWs use 3 different wire connectors for the throttle switch: early which is 1980s till mid 90s; mid which is mid 90s until the early teens; and late which is teens through current. All the cheap chinese switches fit only the mid range; this lets you plug the cheap mid switch into your late harness. It also lets you use an older oem switch on a later bike....
