In 2007 Hertz Shelby and Ford got together to produce 500 of these cars in an attempt to raise sales at Hertz. Of the 500 only 17 were set aside to be sold directly to Hertz executives. This car was shipped to Las Vegas where Shelby America performed all the up fitting to make this a Rent A Racer.
