Many oil pans are designed with a recessed drain port, which may prevent the valve from seating all the way down and thus leaking. To have these valves installed properly you need to use an adapter. If the valve cannot be tightened all the way without hitting the oil pan, please use an adapter. Install the adapter to the oil pan and then install your EZ Oil Drain Valve. Please follow EZ oil drain torque specs which is no more than 22 ft lbs for a 106 valve and adapter...
