These are new motorcycle black heavy duty shock absorbers. The original Honda shocks have rubber grommets in the shock eyelets which tend to crack and split over time. This set of shocks has all metal bushings in the shock eyelets which will never wear out. The free length from eye to eye is 11.5" which is .75" (3/4) shorter than the stock shocks.
