This is a service mileage counter that was fairly commonly factory installed on '75 and '76 MGBs. They quite often were removed due to failure. This one is a clean original part, works (is not seized up)... and includes the correct, original speedometer cables. This part is rare and may serve only for authenticity for restoration... and may also explain those few "extra" wires in your engine compartment. Check the pictures for condition otherwise.
